Pablo Skywalkin'

After Doughboyz got famous in Detroit, and coined their signature sound, there was sudden surge in Detroit rap. In the haze of the repetitive pizzicato's, offbeat hi hats, and 80s drum patterns is a fast rising Pablo Skywalkin'. He's honestly a typical Detroit rapper based on his beats and lyrics, but what makes him different is his delivery topics. While Detroit rappers of course love to talk about clothes, Pablo takes it a step further and throws a minimum of 14 high end brands into each song. He's less of the average hood rapper in Detroit who mostly talks about 'da bag coming in' and 'Being loyal to they mans.' It seems as if he's obsessed with being crispy and having at least 2 bands on him to get crispy at all times. He is quickly rising to the forefront of Detroit rap, with Doughboyz getting signed and starting to go national, Detroit is looking for a person to fill their void in the city. The obvious pick would be Icewear Vezzo, but Pablo is itching to grab it for himself. A teenager with a flashy wardrobe and extremely angry adlibs, Pablo is looking to be the next huge rapper from Detroit. His lyrics aren't necessarily that strong, but lyrics aren't the reason so many people listen to him. They listen to him for the loud delivery and occasionally off beat flow. All throughout the city, you can hear random people shouting "All these bands on me I can't fucking move." This comes from his most popular song 'Flex On Em' in which he talks about buying expensive clothes to show off on people he doesn't like. This song is representative of what he's about as a rapper. The unique thing about Pablo is that he's trying to distance himself from strictly Detroit rap, and make songs with more widespread appeal, whether it's the old school New Orleans beat on 'I'm Back' or the catchy unorthodox chorus on 'Hulk Hogan.' There's even an attempt at a more serious lyrical song 'Rico', but this was unfortunately thrown off  by the drone of a lazy autotune. The lyrics on the song are actually dope if you listen to them, but most people will ignore them because of the auto tune, it's a shame really. All in all, Pablo Skywalkin' has no where to go but up, and I'm curious to see what he's going to do next. - L$G
